The 2023 NVC International 2023 Global Supplier Summit, entitled "Together, We Go Further," drew to a close on October 25th, 2023. This grand event provided a platform and an opportunity for NVC International and its strategic partners to jointly explore trends in the lighting industry and deepen their strategic partnerships.
The theme "Together, We Go Further", highlighted the close partnership between NVC International and its suppliers, as well as NVC’s shared commitment in navigating current global macroeconomic challenges and fostering mutual growth. The success of this summit demonstrates NVC International's dedication to sustainable collaboration and lays a solid foundation for stronger partner relationships.
The summit brought together representatives from fifteen supplier partners across the world, with each supplier showcasing expertise in its respective field in lighting. They engaged with NVC International's global executives, sharing their unique insights and development directions. This exchange sparked new opportunities for collaboration and innovation between all parties.
During the summit, there were panel discussions where NVC International's regional business leaders delved deep into the brands and market conditions of their respective regions. The discussions covered crucial topics such as supply chain collaboration, product innovation, quality control, and sustainability. These exchanges provided a thorough understanding of the needs and expectations of all parties, ensuring better future business alignment.
During the conference, Ms. Eva Chan, Vice Chairman and CEO of NVC International, delivered a speech discussing the company's development journey, global footprint, and corporate strategy.
She emphasized, "We don't know what a challenge is; so long as we are single-minded in achieving our goals." Ms. Kelly Xie, Vice President of Operations for the Asia-Pacific region at NVC International, presented an overview of the most crucial concern for our suppliers, "Finished Product Procurement Management and Strategy." The FGP Finished Product Procurement Center has three primary responsibilities: product sourcing, supplier management, and market information sharing. FGP has always focused on procurement strategies based on resource integration, cost control, and risk management. In supplier selection and evaluation, we have five key expectations from our suppliers: product, quality, delivery, cost, and service, and we have established strict selection criteria and procedures to ensure the stability of future partnerships. NVC International maintains smooth communication and rapid responsiveness with our partners through a mature supplier relationship management system. Ms. Kelly Xie expressed to our partners, "Let us choose each other, empower each other, and go further together."
Ms. Zoe Liu, Deputy Director of Quality Management at NVC International, provided insights into quality control in finished product procurement. Quality control in finished product procurement involves six major stages: new supplier assessment, first-article inspection, product design validation, pre-production sample review, inspection, and customer complaint handling. Each step is executed with strict standards and procedures, creating a robust and interconnected process to ensure the quality of externally sourced products.
Mr. Nathan McLeod, Vice President of Product Management for the North American region, presented an overview of NVC International's wholly-owned subsidiary, ETI Solid State Lighting Inc. Analyzing market trends and the conditions of various sales channels, he shared the company's genuine requirements with the suppliers. Additionally, strategic initiatives for the sales channels in 2024 were unveiled, opening up new and promising opportunities for collaboration.
Mr. Joe Clark, CEO of NVC Lighting UK, provided a comprehensive overview of NVC’s European market, business scope, and strategic needs of NVC International's subsidiary, NVC Lighting UK. He showcased NVC's brand achievements and market position within its operational area. In terms of partner relationships, the goal is to continually progress in collaboration and gain robust support from the supply chain.
As the Regional Product Manager for Southeast Asia at NVC International, Mr. Alan Chan delved into an in-depth analysis of the current situation in the ASEAN market. He presented NVC International's insights into future industry trends within the ASEAN market. The ASEAN market, known for its growth potential, ranks third in terms of market size for China's global lighting exports, leading the way for China's overall lighting market exports. With strong support from our suppliers, the ASEAN market is poised to deliver significant growth in performance for the group and its partners, ensuring a win-win situation.
Ms. Jessie Lee, Director of Product Marketing, provided an in-depth introduction to the company's operations in the Japanese market. Since January 1, 2019, NVC Lighting Japan Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of NVC International Lighting, has been granted brand authorization by Toshiba in Japan. NVC Lighting Japan operates as an independent subsidiary using the Toshiba brand to serve Japanese consumers through B2C channels. Ms. Lee discussed Japan’s market conditions, product series, and sales channels. The Zhuhai team closely collaborates with the Japanese team to reach sales points with precision, gaining high recognition in the Japanese market and capturing a leading market share. Simultaneously, Ms. Lee unveiled new product lines for collaboration with supplier partners in the future, creating more opportunities for all.
